About the Instructor:
Dr. Douglas Chung Dr. Douglas Chung, MSW, MA, Ph.D., is a professor at the School of Social Work, Grand Valley State University. He is the first social work scholar to introduce Chinese ancient Qigong technologies into human services. He has taught Qigong Therapy since 1995. Trained as a researcher in mental health, community organization, and family therapy, he has extensive practice and teaching experience along with his publications in cross-cultural social work education and practice. He is engaged in building culturally sensitive models for personal and social transformation through integration of Qigong technologies and human services. He was one of the editors and authors of Social Work with Asian Americans. He is a Qigong practitioner (since 17), researcher, workshop designer and conductor for human services. Additionally, he is the president of the Asian Center. He is the authority of the upcoming book of "Qigong Therapies". Douglas' presentations are practical, positive, and empowering tools and messages directed toward helping people break through walls that limit their ability to create a healthy lifestyle. One can then have freedom of life, where self actualization can be achieved. He is down to earth, and he likes to help people achieve the utmost human potential. His high energy will make time go by in a flash, with everyone wishing that the class was not at an end.
